Personal Note
Dude, this is one the factory prototype sets, with screwed-on badges (there were not many of these prototype sets manufactured and only went to Professionals for evaluation and stage / studio usage). These have a Clear Satin finish.
The Assembly-Line sets have glued on badges, and were offered in thirteen different finishes.
The set features Peavey's industry-renowned, ultra-thin maple shells...the thinnest available with 3-ply toms (about 1/10-of-an-inch thin) and 5-ply kick drum. They also incorporate Peavey's patented Radial Bridge technology, which are these donut-shaped, cross-laminated maple pieces found at both the top and bottom of the drum, right next to the rims. This Radial Bridge is a signature component of their line and was designed to replace traditional lugs, which are fastened to the shell and, consequently, interfere with the drum's natural resonance. So, needless to say, between the drum's Radial Bridges, thin shells and RIMS mounting system, these are the loudest, warmest and most resonant drums I've ever played.
Dude, It just Don't Get No Better !
