To the brave that fought and died in Nam for a
cause, Just To watch it crumble and fall. Lest we forget that they gave it their all, Forget we will not through it all. They wanted peace but found it none, they wanted happiness But it never did come. They could hear bullets singing in the wind, Hoping and praying it wouldn’t be for them. We were young and brave, We wanted peace for the ones at home. War is not for the weak and faint, Only god knows what we think The beauty of the land as I recall, Passed like death before my eyes. With wind in my face and sun on my back, I pulled the trigger that took another man’s life. Oh Lord that thy will forgive and forget. I hope and pray God in Heaven will take this pain from us all, That fought and surrendered all. My mind is clearing and the pain is leaving, Thanks for the Vets I am believing.
